The world can be a better place, if we believe in God. You see, there are many problems in the world these days, I believe that at Easter to find some peace, we should pray God and our Lord Jesus Christ, in the hope that they would help us find a solution, from the problems that we have in the world. 

Welcome to our article, My World News Diary of April 2022.

Dear readers, this month is April 2022, but we are living still in the same old world with all its problems. Anyhow, in this article we will be talking about Easter, the Australian elections, some happenings in the world and the war in Ukraine. These days between the Covid19 and the war in Ukraine the world looks unstable, and the only thing that brings stability is the Easter religious service that brings some stability and hope to share with the believers. You see, we should listen to the message that Easter brings, and to the way Our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to live, but people do not care about what other people needs, that is why there are problems and wars in the world.   

Anyhow, I need to say that people today are not strong believers, like they were in the past, but most of us still believe in God, so, we go to church, and if cannot we follow the church services on TV, anyhow what is important here is that we still believe in God, we believe that Our Lord Jesus Christ has opened the way back to God, and through him we could gain eternal life, which is helpful to believe, since in this world there are many problems.

Some of these problems are manmade, so, it would be helpful, if we learn how to avoid them, but how we can avoid the COVID19 pandemic, and how we can avoid the problems that this war in Ukraine is causing, is hard to know. Then there are our personal problems to be solved. Here some people may find it easy to cope, other may not. Some of us may have health problems, in some families health problems never seem to end, no matter what they do, they cannot find the right balance, so, the only thing we can do is to pray, hoping that God hears our prayers and helps us. So, believing in God and Jesus Christ gives us hope for the future, may God hear our prayer and help us according to his will.

Now that we have talked about a few things and our religious beliefs, let us talk about the coming Australian elections.

Talking about the Australian election and who is going to win.  

This photo above, shown the two leaders of the major political parties in Australia, both have some good and some not so good policies, depending who you are what you do and what you would like to see in your party leader. Anyhow, they go around debating this and that, and we are waiting to see, who is going to win the 21st. of May 2022.  

The Australian election. 

In Australia this year, the federal election will be held the 21^st of May 2022, so, we are waiting to know what the politician will promise us, to get our vote. The election was called the 10^th of April, and now they are off and running. At the beginning the polls were saying the Labor Party, was tipped to win the election, but today after only ten days running, the race is more even, and it seems that there will be a hung parliament, if that happens the smaller parties will have the balance of power, and it will be hard to do anything, but now is still early to say.

Anyhow, because the government has spent a lot of money during the pandemic, they must be careful with spending more money, so, they are not promising much, they are staying within the budget outlines, that was published a couple of weeks ago, the opposition has not found much to criticize it, except for minor issues.

The other day the prime minister, Scot Morrison and the opposition leader Anthony Albanese have had the first debate, and they say that there was no real winner. Some people say that this election is not very popular for the major parties, and the minor parties are going to do well, and may end up holding the balance of power, apart from that, there is not much else to say.  

But there are odd things that pop up, that may or may not affect the election. Defense Minister Peter Dutton has warned Australia needs to prepare for war in light of the looming threat from China and global insecurity spurred by Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

Anyhow, the opposition is saying that the prime minister Scot Morrison has not been good enough with Solomon Islands government, he has failed to secure their friendship properly, and now China has stepped in and have secured their friendship and is going to have some naval base or something like that. Which is no good for Australia and the western world, but who knows what will happen next.

Anyhow, the election campaign continues, while they are blaming each other about this or that. Well, this is what we can expect to see at election time, but it is still to soon to say what will happen, and who is going to win.

Other happenings in the world.  

Today most of the world seems to relax a bit from the COVID19 pandemic, most of us start thinking that the worst is over, so we could go back to normal living. But as most time happens there is something else to worry about. Mr President Putin has chosen confrontation with Ukraine and the west, instead of discussions and freedom of the Ukrainian people, he has gone so far that now he is going to stop supplying gas to Poland and other countries, because they are not able to pay their gas in Rubles.

I believe that if this is not resolved for good soon, then the western world has got to find an alternative supply. Now, since using coal, petrol and gas can cause global warming, this happening can accelerate the transitional time to clean energy, like solar power or wind power. This must be done soon or later, so, this may become the right time to start moving faster. Anyhow, we will see what is going to happen.

Other news

In France they had a presidential election, and Macron has won a second term. So, everything will remain the same.  

In the Pacific, China is trying to expand its military presence in the Pacific.

In Europe they are all affected from the war in Ukraine, and Russia threatening to turn off their gas supply.

In America president Biden says that they will supply Ukraine with whatever is needed to stop Russia taking over. Meanwhile, people are dying on both sides.

Talking about the war in Ukraine. 

Here I am only saying that this is a useless war that could have been avoided. So, let me explain how I understand it and my views. The reasons for Russia to invade Ukraine, is about some Russian speaking people that live in Ukraine, and because they are a minority, they feel mistreated from the government, so, they group themselves together and start fighting the government. Now, because they are Russian speaking people, President Putin believes that they want to be Russian, so, he wants to occupy Ukraine to help them, but what about the rest of the population that do not want to be Russian. 

Here I could say more, but I am cutting it short.

Anyhow, the war is still going on, with losses on both sides, see one of the following descriptions. (And I quote)>

The UK defence secretary, Ben Wallace, estimated those losses on Monday as a quarter of Russia’s pre-invasion strength, with more than 2,000 armoured vehicles knocked out, including at least 530 tanks, as well as 60 aircraft.

Anyhow, I believe that I have said most of what I have heard happen, in this April diary, and my views is that this useless war could have been avoided, if they had asked the people to vote, on which side they wanted to be, and both sides accept the outcome.

In this article we are talking mainly about the war in Ukraine. What can we say, the war is a terrible thing, it destroys lives and everything else that makes life worth living? The people that start the war do not know what they are doing. They may believe that they are fixing something, but instead they are ruining a lot more.

Dear readers, this blog is about the Ukraine war, it is only part of my article that I have written in Hub Pages, I will write the rest in my next blog. Anyhow, today there are several things happening in the world all at the same time, I would like to write a report, but they are mostly bad news, so, it is hard to decide where to start from, perhaps it is better to start with what interest the entire world, even if it is bad news. So, let us talk about the war in Ukraine.

As we have reported in our last article, the war between Russia and Ukraine has started and there are many casualties on both sides, for me this is a useless war that should not have happened, but Vladimir Putin started it thinking that it was easy for them to win, and it would have been over in a very short time, but it did not work that way at all, because the Ukrainians do not like to be under Russia domination, so, they are fighting back. Hereunder are some of the reports. (Russian missiles hits Ukraine’s biggest nuclear plant starting major fires.)

Shortly afterwards, it was reported that US president Joe Biden had spoken to his Ukrainian counterpart about the incident.

Anyhow, this war in Ukraine has gone on for a month now, and there is no end in sight. I believe that President Putin wanted the war to end in his favor in a couple of days, but the Ukrainian people do not like Putin rules, so, they are fighting back with whatever they can. So, there are thousands of casualties on both sides. Now the Ukrainian do not want Putin to rule them, they have made it clear from their resistance, so, it is time for Putin to stop this useless war, because it will cost Russia many lives and money, now and in the future. Anyhow, this is only a simple man view.

Just as I was saying, this war is not going Putin way, you see, just a few minutes ago, I have found on Face Book that the Russian Army that was supposed to occupy Kiev has been stopped and defeated, and now they have only three days of food and ammunition. So, we are waiting what is going to happen next. Anyhow, we hope that Putin starts thinking how to end this war soon, because it is very unlikely that the Ukrainians will surrender.

Anyhow, the war is continuing. 

Just as we said, there will be a lot of dead people on both sides, just look at this photo below to see the destruction it is causing.

Those seeking a quiet life, tired of the price and pace of Kyiv, once came to live on Vokzal’na Street in the small town of Bucha, 17 miles north-west of Ukraine’s capital. It was known as “little Switzerland”, so comfortable was the living.

Today, Vokzal’na is burned out, its broken homes and the churned-up military hardware littering the muddy quagmire of what was the road make up some of the defining images of the devastation wrought by Vladimir Putin’s war.

It is barely conceivable that anyone could have survived what was thrown at Vokzal’na from both sides during what was clearly a vicious battle on the road to Kyiv.

There is not a brick unscathed nor a patch of mud that will not have been mixed with blood. But, now that the Russians have gone, Vokzal’na’s residents are emerging from their cellars, tired, tearful and angry.

What can we say, this war is a lot worse than we thought it could be, it is not finished, but looks like that this time President Putin is the aggressor, at the beginning he wanted us to believe that he went to war to prevent a genocide of the pro Russian people, but it ended up but Russia being the aggressor and committing genocide of the Ukrainian people. I wonder what is going to happen next, and who is going to be punished for these crimes against humanity. 

Now, I have noted that Russia is denying what they have done, even their own people believe that Russia has gone to Ukraine to free the Ukrainian people, but that is ridiculous to free who from who. Those are all lies to cover up. 

This is all I want to say in this blog, even though it can be longer and talk about the weather, the covid19 and the Australian election, anyhow I will write about them in my next blog.

An old man views of the world.

In this article, we are talking about what is happening these days, which in a way resamples what has happened in the past, like the exodus in the Bible. In the Bible the Israelite leave Egypt to go to their Promised Land, this was called exodus in the Bible. It was a lot of people moving from Egypt to the Promised Land, today something similar is happening, and this can be a problem. 

Welcome to our article, An old man view of the world. 

Dear readers, this blog has been taken from my personal story that I wrote a few years ago, and since most things are the same and can repeat themselves, I am using this old story to point out what I am worried about today, because I am concerned. Now there is also something on the back of my mind, which I am saying it here for the first time, it is that humanity needs to find and suggest a way how the Muslims can be self disarmed.

Anyhow, we old people are concerned about what can happen, because we have seen nasty things happen during our lives; therefore, we are looking for signs that can tell us what can happen next. People must understand that we old people do this because we fear for the worse, our own lives have taught us to be alert, to prevent nasty things happening to us.

You see, old people are concerned for themselves, and other people as well, so, they believe that their role is that they have to look at what is happening in the world, and try to compare yesterday events to today happenings, in the hope that they can see what can happen. This does not mean that what they see will happen, but it can happen, therefore, they want to warn the people about those concerns.  

So, I am looking at the world today, and I don’t like what I see, because what I see is uncertainty all around us. So, I think that the world is going mad these days; I feel that humanity that was supposed to know better in the 21^st century, it is not doing what they are supposed to do.

Some of us think that we have reached the age of reason, but from what happens, I am sure that we have not reached the age of reason; because the age of reason is when people don’t make mistakes, and they have learned how to live peacefully, with the people around them.

So, what is wrong with humanity I would like to ask? You see, today when we look at the news, it is impossible to avoid seeing the violent things that are happening in the world. What hurts most is that humanity is doing this to themselves, as if they don’t know better.

One of the bad news, is about the terrorist that seem to happen very often. We know that the bad and violent news are reported more often than the good news. Because the public needs to know what is happening. But really, we are becoming tired of all these bad news, because most times they are so ugly that one wants to switch off the TV, throw away the newspaper and turn off the computer.

So, I have to say that as a human being my heart is crying, my heart is crying because there are terrible things going on in the world today; so, I believe that we must do something to stop this violence; if we cannot do anything that can help, we need at least talk about it, in the hope of finding a way out. Who knows somebody can come up with a solution?

What we are saying is this, the world is at war, but at the same time there is no real-world war going on, of course, there are some real wars going on, but not large enough to be called world wars, so, I am concerned for the entire world, because these things can escalate. There are people that think that this is the beginning of the third world war, some religious people say that this is the beginning of the end of times, as it is written in the last book of the Bible Revelation. But I don’t see it that way, however I am concerned.  

Anyhow, I am concerned what is happening in the entire world, I am concerned about this peaceful country of Australia, because it may not be peaceful anymore, since we cannot avoid to be involved, and I am also concerned about my native country Italy, because Italy is in the front line, you see, there are thousands of illegal emigrants arriving to Italy continually.  

I know for a fact that in Italy there have been many wars in the past, as it has a long history about them, so, I fear that something can happen again. You see, today there are a lot of refugees coming in. This might not seem important to some people, but, the views of this old man are that, they seem to occupy the whole country and the Italians are welcoming them, even when a lot of other Italians are concerned.

Anyhow, I don’t see that this peaceful welcoming is going to last long, because most regions of Italy are not rich, so, they cannot sustain all these illegal emigrants; therefore, if this refugee’s problem that we are witnessing today keeps going on, there can be another violent story that can unfold in the future in these regions of Southern Italy, therefore, we wonder, if history is going to repeat itself, so, we should be concerned what is happening.

Why we should be concerned. 

We should be concerned, because there is this movement of people that can be considered a Biblical Exodus. You know what I mean, the Jews left Egypt to go to their Promised Land, in their way they had many problems, one of their biggest problems was that they had to fight the people that were occupying their Promised Land, so, in the process many people were killed. Now that is one example of what happens when a large number of people move from one place to another; of course, there are many more examples if we read our human history, but I believe that I have explained my point of view.

If you follow my main point of view, we can say that today we need to be concerned about what is happening; because what has happened in the past can happen again, therefore, we must treat this refugee problem with caution. Because history tells us to be concerned. Not only in Southern Italy, that happen to be in the front line, but also in the entire continent of Europe, as there are too many refugees that arrive from Africa, the Middle East and Asia, so, I am concerned.

Some people say that today refugees is a worldwide problem, even if it is a worldwide problem, I would like to tell my own country people that what I see coming worries me. You see, today I am viewing all these happenings from the land down-under here in Australia. Now because I am so far away, my point of view can be different from what the people of Southern Italy are seeing in their own country.

Now, to understand what I am worried about, it is necessary to know more about this region of Southern Italy and the inhabitant that are living there. You see this region is not rich, the only thing that it is going on there is wheat farming, for those people that own enough land to do that, there is also some mixed farming going on for their own use; there are a lot of small farms that can sustain the native inhabitant only. We have also to say that there are times when these small farms do not produce enough and people must leave the farms and go to work somewhere else, even if they have to go to another country. You see this is the main reason why I left our small family farm in Southern Italy and migrated to Australia.

We know that a few things have changed since I left Italy, but if they have changed it is not a great deal, so, the way of life over there is very much the same as it was in the fifties when I was there. As you can see from what I have said, this region of southern Italy cannot support any outside people that want to come and stay there, and that is one of my concerns.

But as we have said, this can apply to several other regions of Italy and indeed the entire world. We really have to think about what we need to do next, so, whatever concerns I have for my native town of southern Italy and the entire country of Italy, they are also concerns for the rest of the word and above all the western world, since that is the place where these refugees are moving to.

Now, these refugees believe that they are the only people that have got problems, but even in Italy there are unsolved problems, which I am going to point out here-under, just to explain my views. You see, Italy is overpopulated already, if we compare the resources and capacity that Italy has, and that is one of the main problems over there.

This boat full of refugees can tell us that these people are really desperate to go to Europe, they overload the boats and put themselves in danger of drowning, because things can easily go wrong. Anyhow, today refugees are from Africa and the Middle East, they want to move to Europe, they want to leave their land, because wars are going on. But there are also people that just go in search of a better life. This people do not care if they are a problem in the country they go to. So, we should be concerned about what could happen. 

Italy position and population.  

The Italian peninsula in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, this makes it easy for the African refugees to come to Europe. We believe that this is the main reason why so many illegal emigrants arrive in Italy every day, and sometime even thousands of them can come in just one day, other times just a few, but it is a problem that may never end, unless we of the western world are able to find a solution. Any solution can help, but the best is that we must find a way how to keep these refugees in their own countries of origin.

We know that it is not easy, because if that was the solution, it should have taken place by now, but we must continue to see if the refugees can be kept in their own original land. We know that this is almost impossible, therefore, we are concerned about it, since it brings lots of other problems.  

We have reasons to believe that Italy cannot cope with this incoming of refugees for long. What is happening now is this, Italy accepts these refugees on humanitarian grounds, they even go to help them when they get in trouble in their overloaded boats on their way to Italy, but there are too many of them arriving every day; so, it is a never ending problem. Most of the western world is worried about these refugees; but we don’t know what to do to stop them.

Let me point out this to you briefly, since I have written the first part of this article, there have been several terrorist attacks that involves illegal emigrants and refugees, but that is not all; for instance, today on the Italian news, we have seen the eternal city of Rome full of uncollected rubbish in the streets. This is another problem that the refugees will produce, since there are more people, there will be more rubbish. Now the rubbish can be collected, but where to take this rubbish will be the problem of the future. 

Today I am editing this article, so, I can add other things that have happened since last time I wrote this article. There has been an earthquake in central Italy, where near three hundred people have died. At the same time, in a few days about 15 thousand refugees have arrived in Italy. It is very warring, therefore, I feel sad for the Italian people, since they have to cope with this other disaster. So, in the world there are more problems to solve every day.

The Italian problem of today. 

At the beginning of this article, we have talked about that there are many illegal migrants in the world today; they are illegal migrant because they forcefully go everywhere, even when they are not wanted. So, I must say that when they do this forceful migrating, they can upset the way of life of the people that are forced to receive them against their will. Anyhow, let us see what the cause of this migration is, and then extend our search to what can be done to avoid them, because I am worried that something nasty can happen in southern Italy soon.

The causes of this illegal migration, it is that these refugees are in search of a better life, there are many reasons for that, but above all it is poverty. When poverty is bad people can even starve to death, now that is when people are very poor, and they are forced to find a way how they can feed themselves; here the rest of the world that are better off should try to help them and there is no question about it.

But on the other hand, there are people that are not that poor, they want more because they are greedy, they want to believe that the rest of the world is better off than they are, therefore, they want to grab whatever the others have, and this is the main problem that the entire world is facing today.

Anyhow, here we want to talk about the Italian problem, mainly because I am an Italian that has emigrated from southern Italy; therefore, in this article I want to talk about Italy and my native town and the surrounding towns and countryside. So, we want to start imagining what can be like in the future to live in southern Italy, in these towns with all these new migrants coming in. But who are these emigrants we must ask and why they are migrating?

This is the main thing that worries me. These people that are arriving as refugees in Italy and other parts of Europe, they look like that they can feed themselves well, in their own country of origin. So, feeding themselves is not the problem for these people. Therefore, what other problems they might have one should ask?

Before we can answer that question, we want to define the sort of refugees we are talking about here. There are at least two types of refugees, the real refugees are those people that are forced to run away from a natural disaster or war. The rest of them are not real refugees, they are illegal emigrants that are looking for opportunities to live a better life.

Now, there is nothing wrong for people wanting to live a better life, if the better life they are looking for is hard work, and this hard work is easily available in the country they emigrate, but if they are looking for a better life, because they believe that the people in the country they have emigrated are better off, just because they have heard that in their country of origin, then there will be great problems. This is the reason why I am concerned.

We can talk about other concerns that can affect Italy and the rest of the world, but we have said enough to make our point. We hope that this problem can be solved soon.
