Let us talk about the weather, because of the global warming has changed a lot of things, there are floods in places that rained very little before. Anyhow, here I would have liked to show you a different photo, in the middle of the Australian desert, because it seems to me that where there was desert, now there is water everywhere, just like to photo above dirty waters.

JANUARY 2022 DIARY AND WORLD NEWS.
Welcome
to my diary article,
This is my January diary, I would like to start with the weather in Australia and the world, because it effects the entire world. So, let us talk about the weather, because today I start to believe that the global warming is really affecting us. Since every time I look at the weather forecast, they are telling us that so much rain has fallen, in some places, and there are floods, they are talking about hundreds of millimeters in a few hours, which I believe it has not happened in the past, so, I wonder what is happening. Today this is how one of the floods in South Australia has been reported. (And I quote).
Suppliers say South Australia's flood emergency
has created one of the biggest disruptions to food supplies in living memory.
Part of the main highway linking Adelaide and the state's north remains
underwater and it could take a fortnight to repair vital rail lines to the NT
and WA. (End of quote).
So, this makes me think that things are really changing, in the middle of Australia, where there was desert, now there is water everywhere, If this keeps going, we might end up with an inland sea, which may even be helpful, who knows. These happenings make me think that there can be big climatic changes ahead. Now let us look at what is happening in the world.
Floods in Australia, now Australia is a flat country, so, when it rains heavily and floods, the waters will take a long time to drain away. So, it becomes like like an inland sea, sometimes these water are dirty and sometimes almost clear, like water you see in this photo, it may take days before everything is normal again. Anyhow, now let us see what is happening in the world.
---------------------
What is happening in the world this year.
This new year politically seems to be less dramatic than last
year, when there was this rebellion at the white house and five people lost
their lives, and they are still working out who is to blame. Then there was
this change of government and Joe Biden became the new president of USA. There
were a few changes during the year, but not as much as some people thought
could happen. Anyhow, this year nothing is happening, except for the COVID-19
pandemic, that seems to continue and mutates, and the amount of people that
have been immunized.
In Europe there is this problem between Russia and Ukraine,
the rest of the world is worried that the Russian can invade Ukraine, UK
premier Boris Jonson and President Joe Bided have warned Russia not to do it,
but we are all waiting about what is going to happen next.
In Italy they must elect a new president, since the incumbent
president Sergio Mattarella mandate ends the 3rd of February 2022,
but they are not getting anywhere with their voting. In Italy, it seems to be
always the same story, they take a long time to elect a new president. Anyhow, after several days of voting, they voted to keep the incumbent president, Sergio Mattarella, even
though he said at the beginning, that he did not want to be the president anymore,
but somehow, he has accepted to stay a second term.
In the Pacific Ocean, a volcanic explosion has caused a
tsunami and massive damage on several islands of Tonga, because of its
remoteness the rest of the world did not know much at the beginning, since most
connections were down. Anyhow, there has been a lot of damage, from the tsunami
and from ashes falling from the sky, some people have died, and they need help,
so, Australia and New Zeeland, are sending ships with supply, but it will take
a few days to get there.
As if this was not enough an earthquake has followed, and
this is how it has been reported, and I quote.
Tonga has been rocked by a magnitude 6.2
earthquake, just weeks after a devastating volcanic eruption and tsunami.
The quake struck 130 miles west of the island
of Lifuka around 7.40pm local time on Thursday, the United States
Geological Survey said.
Lifuka is part of the low-lying Haʻapai
Islands chain which was hard-hit in the Hunga-Tonga eruption, with several of
the islands seeing all their buildings swept away in the subsequent tsunami.
There was no immediate word on damage from
Thursday's earthquake, with communications in the region still badly disrupted
after the eruption severed an underwater internet cable that is still being
repaired.
However, the National Weather Service located
in nearby American Samoa said no tsunami had been caused - meaning any damage
is likely to be limited.
(End of quotes). Now let us look at the
Covid-19.
------------------------
The COVID-19 pandemic.
This article has been started in January 2022. What has this
new year in store for us nobody knows, we hope it is a better year than the
last two years, since the entire world has suffered and is still suffering, due
to the corona virus pandemic. I believe that the entire world wishes that this
disease disappears, so, we are all praying and hoping we can go back to a
normal life this year. Anyhow, we must wait and see what happens next,
meanwhile we can look at what is happening in the world.
In Queensland in December 2021, there were only a few cases
of COVID-19, suddenly in a month there are about 15,000 cases positive each day.
The rest of the world may even be worse off, so, let us look at this very short
list.
In Queensland at the end of January 2022 we have 403,000 positive, and 196 deaths.
In Australia we have 2,600,000 positive and 3,750 deaths.
In the world we have 366 million positive and 5,637,000
deaths.
They are talking to us that people that are vaccinated are
less likely to die, so they are saying get vaccinated, but not everybody does.
Now let us look at what some people are interested in.
-------------------------
Happening that most people are interested.
Apart from the corona virus pandemic the other thing that people
seem to be interested are these three personal cases. The first is the civil
case hearing between, Virginia Giuffre and Prince Andrew. Here is what I found
on the internet, and I quote:
Top story: Prince
Andrew civil case hearing looms
Hello, I’m Virginia Harrison and here is your first
morning briefing for 2022.
A 2009 legal settlement between Virginia Giuffre
and Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier and convicted sex offender
whom she accused of sexual abuse, has been released. The settlement was made public on
Monday as part of Giuffre’s 2021
civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew, whom she accuses of sexually abusing her
two decades ago when she was 17.
------------------
The outcome of this event above is
interesting.
The Queen has stripped Prince Andrew of
his military titles and royal patronages. It comes as he faces a civil
case in the United States over claims he sexually assaulted a woman when she
was 17.
CNN reporter Max Foster told Sky News Australia he is ultimately
out of the “firm”.
“He doesn’t have any royal role, he doesn’t have any military
titles, he doesn’t have those patronages that you need to carry out a royal
role” (End of quotes).
--------------------------------------
The second man that
is making news is tennis player Novak Djokovic.
(And I
quote)
Within
hours of being released from immigration detention on Monday evening, Novak
Djokovic headed for Rod Laver Arena to have a practice session in preparation
for his planned Australian Open title defence.
The Serb was granted late night access to the
court to loosen his limbs and reacquaint himself with his tennis racquets after
spending almost a week under guard at the Park Hotel in the inner Melbourne
suburb of Carlton, and the day at his lawyers' chambers listening to the court
case.
After several hours of legal argument Federal Circuit Court
Judge Anthony Kelly quashed the decision to block Djokovic's entry into
Australia.
The judge said the world No.1 was given insufficient time to
speak to Tennis Australia officials and to lawyers to respond to being told of
the intent to cancel his visa. (End of quote).
What has happened since then, is that his visa was cancelled,
and he returned to Serbia, but he still wants to fight the Australian
government for damages. Who knows what can happen next?
-----------------------------------------
The third
case that is making news is this murder case, here is what I found on the internet,
and I quote.
A man has been charged with the
murder of a nine-year-old girl after a
child’s body was found stuffed in a barrel and dumped in a river.
The girl, who can no longer be named
due to a charge being laid, had been holidaying with family in Mount Wilson, near
the Blue Mountains.
NSW Police Acting
Commissioner Karen Webb, Deputy Premier Paul Toole, and NSW Police Deputy
Commissioner David Hudson will hold a press conference at 11.15am AEDT to
provide an update on the case. You can
watch it LIVE in the video player above. (End of quote).
Anyhow, I can only think how cruel
some people can be. It is a very sorry case, that makes me sick to think about
it, so, I am not going to say anything else.

Now, let us talk about sporting events.
The golden Australian girl Ash Barty has made all Australian proud, by winning the Australian open tennis tournament trophy, I am pretty sure that all Australian were thrilled and proud of her.
Now, let us talk about sporting events.
Today is the 31st of January 2022, and we know
that the female tennis player, Ashleigh Barty, has won the Australian open, and
all Australia is happy about it. For the man Rafael Nadal has won, in a match
that lasted about 5 hours. It makes you wonder how strong these people are.
Hereunder are some of the reports. (And I quote)
Ash Barty claimed her first Australian Open title on Saturday night with a
record-breaking number of Aussies watching on from home.
According to OzTAM, Barty's 6-3, 7-6 victory over
American Danielle Collins in the final attracted a peak audience of 4.261
million viewers with an average of 3.577 million.
Nadal pulled off one of the
great Australian Open final victories, as he came back from two sets down to
defeat world No. 2 and tournament favourite Daniil Medvedev 3-2 in a clash for
the ages.

Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios praised the
contributions of the entire Australian contigent in one of the most memorable
Australian Opens ever.
The Special Ks appeared on TODAY together on
Tuesday morning, three days after their incredible men's doubles win.
"Ash winning the Grand Slam was unbelievable.
Me and Thanasi were in the room where she came back to her family and it was a
special moment to see her share that with her support crew as well,"
Kyrgios said.
Rafael Nadal with his 21st tennis trophy looks tiered but happy, he has got more open trophy than anybody else, but it took him 5 long hours of hard work to win it.
Anyhow, there are many other things that can be
said, but I believe that this article is too long, so, see you next month, with another diary of what is happening.
